Best Buddies IDD Family Support Group

When a family has a child with an intellectual or developmental disability (IDD), it can take a toll on every member of the household, including the father and other children. However, The Potter’s House Dallas Chapter of Best Buddies wants every family member to know – you’re not alone!

On Saturday, September 23, The Potter’s House Dallas Chapter of Best Buddies is debuting its Dads and Siblings of IDD Family Support Group – and you’re invited! As a dad, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with other fathers who understand your unique male perspective, leading a family, while caring for a child with IDD. If you’re a sibling of a child with IDD, you’ll discover constructive ways to address and communicate the unique concerns you face, including resentment, embarrassment, peer-issues, and feeling forgotten.

Together, with a focus on the family, we’ll embark on this journey to fully understand IDD and how it shapes our emotional and mental health within family dynamics.

We look forward to seeing you (and your kids) at The P.L.A.C.E. in Dallas, TX on Saturday, September 23 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
